At night with a half to full moon, the camera takes good photos. Otherwise, it's too dark.
I took a night time picture and it was okay, viewable and as good as my $100+ cameras.
Even at the best settings at night using infrared, I can capture ghost-like but still visible images.

I have been using two cameras for over 2 months with the same Duracell Pro batteries and have recorded 1000s of 30 sec 1080p resolution video and the batteries are still full.
I found that the camera runs on 8 double A batteries and covers hundreds of photographs. However, as the batteries wear down, the infra-red night illuminating system may fail to trigger.
I installed USB Rechargeable Lithium AA Batteries and the battery life is much longer lasting and worth the cost.
One set of batteries lasted me 5 weeks and many thousands of photos.

I have personally tested the camera and found that the PIR sensors are phenomenal, consistently detecting subjects over 110 feet away, even though the specifications say it can detect up to 70 feet.
On normal setting, I can detect a very small child more than 60 feet away with the camera.
It is important to try out all three sensitivity settings as they relate to the distances from the camera at which it will be triggered by motion.
