  • Question & Answers

    Q:

Can I use this to just cover up the entire length of my vacuum hose, which keeps ripping at various points?

    A:

The diameter of the hose and how many layers should be covered will be determined by the length of the silicone tape.

    Q:

Is this the type of seal that will protect copper pipe joint leaks?

    A:

I used it on a plastic pipe but it still leaked, so I had to replace it with a copper pipe joint.

    Q:

Will this work on a car rubber or vinyly vacuum hose that runs to a vacuum pump?

    A:

I used it on the sail and a hole in the board for a wind surfer. I am not sure if it would work on the car hose, but it has held up for that over the past two seasons.

    Q:

Is it possible that this would work as an insulator for metal pot and pan handles in the kitchen?

    A:

If you wrap it around the handle a few times, it's to protect wires from moisture.

    Q:

Will this hold up, I'm higher temperatures?

    A:

I used it to seal the trim on my vinyl top, and it seems to hold up well in the heat.
