The Canson (B0039UMRMW) is my favorite sketchbook for larger sizes, and it's a good size for dry and wet mediums.
The top is nice because it doesn't interfere with my hand as I work, and the pages don't tear out cleanly since they aren't perforated, but a quick cut with scissors takes care of the little ruffled edge.
The paper is an off white color but more like a recycled or washed out grey and the pages can still be torn or cut out if you want, it is not perforating so the pages won't fall out on their own.
I like the way that this paper brought out the rich colors of the markers and colored pencils I used, I believe this paper pad can be used for many things, it not only can be used for sketching and drawing, but I think it would be useful for many other things.
I have been using the US Art Supply Premium Heavy-weight Sketchpads for a couple of months now, and they have been a huge hit with me.
Question & Answers
Will this paper work for water color or acrylic paints?
I like this paper for sketching when I want a rougher surface but it is cheap wood pulp paper and won't stand up to wet media.
Is it possible that the sheets are perforated for easy removal?
It is easy to trim, even though ours wasn't.
Will it work well with dry chalk or pastels?
I think it would be perfect.
Does this paper have any recycled paper in it?
I didn't find anything on the packaging that identifies any recycled content on the ones we recieved, so it doesn't appear to have any.
Is it made in the US?
The cover is made in China, if you look at it using the tool provided by Amazon.
