It's great for when your pet gets groomed and use after to brush the new hair that's growing back like my cat was, it's also great for taking your animal for a bath.
The brush works great, I used it to wash my dog's fur, and it worked wonders because he has medium length fur, similar or slightly shorter than a German Shepard or lab, and would see dead fleas come out as I scrubbed.
